Why should artists make work for Art*o*mat®? It's a great marketing opportunity! Get samples of your art to people who buy from machines all over the U.S. (plus 2 Australian machines and 1 in Europe). You can put contact/website info on the art pieces (eg: "Like this? See my real artwork at www.yourartwebsite.com") so it is essentially a business card that people buy!
-you get $2.50 per piece, paid quarterly, on commission
-make your own blocks/boxes or buy them from Art*o*mat®
-get your art seen all over the country!
I hope some of you are inspired to give it a try! We really need more New Mexican artists to participate since we now have 7 machines in Santa Fe and Albuquerque. I'm happy to answer any questions and give tips to interested artists. Email me, Victoria, at firstname.lastname@example.org
What is Art*o*mat®?
What is Art*o*mat®? Created by Clark Whittington in 1997, Art*o*mat® machines are retired cigarette machines that have been converted to VEND ART! For only $5 you can collect paintings, drawings, sculpture, photography, jewelry, glass, mixed media and more -all the size of a pack of cigarettes. There are over 100 active machines in various locations throughout the country. Victoria Brown (that's me), and El Centro de Santa Fe are proud to host the first machine in New Mexico which debuted in February 2013. There are now machines in the Range Cafe in Bernalillo, the Standard Diner in Albuquerque, in the Meow Wolf Art Complex in Santa Fe, the Inn of the Governors in Santa Fe, Caffe Greco on Canyon Road in Santa Fe, the Balloon Museum in Albuquerque, and the Range Cafe on Rio Grande in Albuquerque (that's 8 machines total in northern NM). @ARToMatNM on Facebook/Instagram
